It dominates the main square
The Church of Agios Iakovos Persis is located in the village square and is a building of the early 19th century. The temple is stone-built – the northern wall is two metres thick - it is a single-aisled, built in Gothic style and covered with tiles.
The icon of Agios Iakovos Persis is the work of the Cretan painter Ioannis Kornaros. The saint is depicted frontally from the thighs and up with two angels. At the bottom of the icon, all the martyrdom and the dismemberment of the Saint are recounted.
