The idea of founding the Museum came from expatriate residents of Pedoulas. Subsequently, the Community Council took over, which, with the partial financial support of the Government of Cyprus, carried out the completion and collection of the objects. The initial financial support came from the late shipowner Vassos Hadjioannou.
The Museum was inaugurated in 2005 jointly by the Greek Minister of Cultural Development, Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos, and the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Cyprus, Mr. George Lillikas.
In addition to the traditional arts and professions, the Museum presents the interior of a Cypriot traditional house, with its original furniture, utensils and other household items, including local costumes.
At the entrance of the Museum, you will find the bust of the sponsor of the Museum, Vassos Hadjioannou.
