Kalopanayiotis is known as the thermal bath town of Cyprus due to its thermal springs. The thermal springs of Kalopanayiotis are located near the banks of the "Setrachos" river, next to the Venetian bridge. The healing properties of the sulfurous waters of Kalopanayiotis have been known since ancient times. The Solon kings, from time to time, often visited the area of Marathasa not only for holiday purposes, but also for the purpose of balneotherapy. For the same purpose, kings and princesses visited the area in the Roman, Byzantine and Frankish periods. The water of the springs is still used today for thermal baths.
