It is important as a building and as a place of worship
The interior and the roof are decorated with frescoes with scenes from the Old and New Testaments. The frescoes on the roof and the walls were covered with lime. Only the icon of Panagia Pantanassa was saved from the lime. The icons that constituted the old iconostasis are old Byzantine icons of the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries. Nowadays, they were replaced with new ones and those ones were kept away. The icon of Pantanassa is preserved in the shrine to date and it is considered as a masterpiece of the 14th century. The fresco with Panagia Pantanassa is found in the gynaeconite. It has been maintained in a good condition to date.
