Almost the entire route lies within the Troodos National Forest Park, which is a Natura 2000 site. The last 300 metres of the route are on an earthen road which used to be used by the inhabitants of Amiantos for their agricultural tasks. Along the way you can see ultrabasic plutonium rocks belonging to the Ophiolithic Complex of Troodos. The route ends at Karvounas - Amiantos road, about 1.4 km from the village of Amiantos. The Troodos Botanical Garden "A.O. Leventis" and the Troodos Visitors' Centre are located within the limits of the asbestos mine.
