The church is of the basilica type with a dome and is coated with local stone.
The church of Apostolos Andreas is located at the entrance of the community, on the road that connects Amiantos with Karvounas and is the main church of Amiantos. It was built in the period 1974 – 75 in place of an older church, from which old icons and sacred relics have survived.
