B' Route in Nature – General Description
This route is proposed to be done by road and can be performed without the help of a tour guide. This route is suitable for nature lovers as well as for organized tourist groups in order to promote the rich natural beauty of the island.
In addition, due to the relatively close distance between the sites of this route, it is possible to complete it within the same day.
Due to the mild weather conditions that usually prevail in Cyprus, the route can take place all year round, however, it is noted that there may be difficulties in completing it during the winter season.
B' Route in Nature – Detailed Description
For travelers based in the urban centres of Nicosia, Larnaca or Limassol, it is suggested that the starting point of the route is the village of Agios Georgios while for those based in the urban centres of Paphos, the village of Arsos is suggested (following a reverse route).
In Arsos village, on the tributary of the river Diarizos, visitors have the opportunity to explore the 2 km long trail of study of nature "Arsos", which joins the six medieval fountains that are located along the river (from "Athkies" fountain to ap "Poulin" fountain). At the same time, the traveler can visit "Nikoletino" winery, which is located along the trail.
Then, travelers may continue their walk in the village of Agios Georgios Sylikou, admiring the enchanting landscape created by the rich waters of the river Kourris, which flow continuously throughout the year, in combination with the wild natural vegetation observed in the surrounding area.
The last stop of travelers is Amiantos village, where one may visit the imposing point of view at the village mine, enjoying the panoramic view of the bay of occupied Morphou. Finally, it is recommended that travelers visit Amiantos lake, in a location that exudes mystery due to the peculiarity of its morphology since it appears among the huge rocks.
The route may well be extended, with a total duration of 2 days. In this case, travelers are expected to spend the night in one of the local agritourism accommodation and dine in one of the dining areas in the area, continuing the next day with some of the rest of the routes in nature proposed.
