The arched chapel
The chapel of Panagia Astathkion is located one and a half kilometres east of the village, on a small hill. It is a single-aisled arched chapel, dedicated to Panagia Astathkion (Our Lady of Astathkia), "Astathkiotissa". There are two versions regarding the name of the chapel. One says that Virgin Mary got her last name from the location "Astathkia", where the chapel is located. The second version says that this site was very fertile and productive in cereals and was therefore named in this way
