Agios Athanasios Pentaschinitis was born and lived here
The church of Agios Athanasios Pentaschonitis was devastated by the earthquakes that struck Cyprus in 1941. The chapel dates back to the 7th century and was built over the tomb of the Saint. From its ruins it seems to have been a majestic temple. Saint Athanasios was born and lived there. He was called "Pentaschinitis" because he lived in that area (Pentaschinos). Today, the temple is under renovation.
